The evening carried extra weight this year: Feed the Soul Foundation is celebrating six years of serving small culinary businesses, and the room was full of the people who have been part of that journey. Past and current Heart & Soul Dinner supporters, major donors, corporate sponsors, culinary leaders, board members, and prospective sponsors filled the room for an evening that was equal parts celebration and momentum-building.

Board Chair Sarah Freddie took the mic to recognize the sponsors, donors, and foundational supporters who have carried the organization's mission forward, before introducing Falayn Ferrell in her new role as Executive Director.

Mr. Sparks of Houston Community College was on hand to accept a check funded by proceeds from the 2026 Heart & Soul Dinner. The gift will provide $500 scholarships to students who participated in the event and attended the Global Culinary Conference as part of the Project Nxt Workforce Training Program.
